Arturo Fernandez is a bilingual newsroom leader and award-winning visual journalist with more than two decades of experience shaping impactful storytelling across print and digital platforms. He’s led visual teams, guided newsrooms through digital transformation, and championed high-quality, community-focused journalism.
Throughout his career, Arturo has overseen visuals and multimedia projects that earned Pulitzer Prizes, Keystone Media Awards, and SPJ honors. His work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling that informs, connects, and inspires.
Based in Chicago, Arturo mentors student journalists at La DePaulia, DePaul University’s Spanish-language student newspaper, and teaches at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
